Real Estate Information Platform – a well-structured data model

All Real Estate Information Platform products have been built onto a standardised data model under agreed management and governance. The platform retrieves the correct data decentrally from official sources and supplies them to the requestor. The data can be exchanged easily via integrated software (API) or a user application.

The first product 'Real estate information for transfer' was launched throughout Flanders at the beginning of 2024, and the application has since been made mandatory via the platform. In the future we will expand the platform with other products.

Who uses the Real Estate Information Platform?

Notaries and estate agents routinely request Property information. In the future, other parties such as government agencies, private companies, other professional applicants and individuals will use the platform to make informed decisions concerning property development and other real estate activities.

REIP is an Athumi initiative in cooperation with: the real estate sector (Confederation of Real Estate Professions in Flanders (CIB)) and the Royal Federation of Belgian Notaries (Fednot), local authorities and the Flemish Association for Cities and Municipalities (VVSG), Digitaal Vlaanderen and the Environment Department of the Flemish Government.

Which data sources does Real Estate Information Platform use?

The platform retrieves (a combination of) data from various public administrations. In the case of municipal information, the municipality provides information validated by them.

What data does Real Estate Information Platform facilitate?

Real Estate Information Platform provides a platform that facilitates information gathering, validation and transmission. It yields relevant information about a property, such as permits, whether a parcel is located in a flood area, soil quality and so on.
